Principle Health Centre in St Albans is a sexual health clinic providing contraception, emergency contraception (morning after pill), free condoms and pregnancy testing. Chlamydia screening (testing) is available for under 25s

If you are aged 13-19 and want to talk to someone about sexual relationships, condoms, c-card, chlamydia or pregnancy, go to your local YC Hertfordshire One Stop Shop.

This family planning clinic provides all types of contraception including:

  • free condoms
  • pregnancy tests
  • hormonal and non-hormonal contraceptives
  • implants (by appointment only)
  • coils (by appointment only)
  • emergency contraception (morning after pill)
  • referrals to other services
  • chlamydia screening is available for under 25s


The Principle Health Centre offers a free and confidential service to anyone regardless of age or gender. You can drop in to the clinic without an appointment during these opening times:

Opening times
Monday and Wednesday: 7pm-9pm
Saturday: 11am-1pm

The majority of the clinic sessions are non-appointment although you will need an appointment for IUDs and implants. It is advisable to phone the clinic before hand to check opening times and availability.
