Eyes Open - YC Hertfordshire Healthy Relationships Programme
Want to be more confident and happier in your relationships? Worried about a relationship being or becoming sexual? Want to find out how and where you can get support? The YC Hertfordshire Healthy Relationships Programme can help you to make informed, safe choices and to have appropriate, healthy and safe relationships. It is specially designed to enable 13-17 year olds* to recognise and develop healthy relationships and keep themselves safe from sexual exploitation.
What is child sexual exploitation?
Child sexual exploitation (CSE) is a type of sexual abuse when someone under 18 is forced or tricked into doing something sexual, often receiving something in return such as affection, gifts, money, drugs or alcohol. The abuser is likely to groom a child or young person into trusting them, this can be done face-to-face or online.
CSE affects thousands of children and young people in England every year. It has a devastating impact on young people and their families and should be a concern for everyone. It is largely a hidden crime, and raising awareness of this type of abuse is essential to preventing it and stopping it early when it does happen. Remember that there is always help available.
The YC Hertfordshire Healthy Relationships Programme will help you to make informed, safe choices and help you to have appropriate, healthy and safe relationships.
