Herts Aid is an HIV and sexual health charity that has been providing services since 1992. Our services are available from Royston to Rickmansworth and everywhere in between, and include: ■ HIV support services to people living with HIV, their families and carers ■ Clinical services including Rapid HIV testing, chlamydia screening and condom distribution ■ Educational services: training programmes covering HIV and sexual health.

Launched on World Aids Day 1992, Herts Aid is a registered HIV and sexual health charity providing support, clinical and educational services across Hertfordshire. We have offices in Ware and Watford and can also arrange to see our service users in their home or at a venue of their choice.

We are involved with a number of communities including young people, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities and Men who have Sex with Men.

Herts Aid works in partnership with statutory and non-statutory providers with the aim of improving the sexual health of the population.

Our services include:

■ One-to-one support at our offices, at home or in the community
■ Rapid HIV testing
■ Chlamydia screening
■ Condom distribution
■ Citizens Advice Bureau outreach services
■ iText – a confidential text service giving information about sexual health
■ Sexual health education and training for :
    Young people’s organisations
    Higher risk groups

What is the c-card Hertfordshire scheme?

c-card Hertfordshire is a sexual health scheme for young people aged 13-25 that aims to help you:

  • Make the right CHOICES regarding relationships
  • Get free CONDOMS to prevent unplanned pregnancies and reduce sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Get tested for CHLAMYDIA and other STIs
  • Understand the types of CONTRACEPTION available

When you register with this scheme you will be issued with a card which contains a unique ID number. You will then be able to use this to pick up free condoms from any registration or easy access point in Hertfordshire where you see the c-card logo.

Timing and Repeats:
Office open Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm.
Social events alternate monthly and regular lunches for those infected and affected. Call for details.
