Megamix is a YC Hertfordshire youth project for young people with additional needs aged 13-24. It's based at the largest youth centre in Hertfordshire - the Bowes Lyon Centre for Young People in Stevenage on Tuesday evenings. YC Hertfordshire is the new name for Youth Connexions.

Megamix is a project for young people with learning disabilities.

Come and join us, have some fun and make new friends!

The project runs on Tuesday evenings and is split into two groups for different age ranges:

  • 13-17 year olds: 5.15-7.15pm
  • 18-24 year olds: 7.45-9.45pm

There is a wide range of activities and trips for you to get involved with, all designed specifically for young people with particular needs and support.

Activities include:

  • pool
  • table tennis
  • basketball
  • football
  • arts & crafts
  • drama
  • music
  • trips out

...and much more.

The YC Hertfordshire staff who work at this project have a great deal of experience of working with young people who have a mixture of abilities and needs. We have adapted games and sports equipment for use in this session.

There is a seperate room available for parents or carers, which allows them to stay in the building to provide any assistance young people may need during the session, whilst allowing young people freedom and independance to enjoy the group.

The Bowes Lyon Centre for Young People is fully wheelchair accessible.
